Established in 1983, Bideford Pottery is well renowned for its commemorative harvest ware. Strongly influenced by that of the North Devon 17th century potters, our work is elaborately decorated using the sgraffito technique. All are produced from rich red earthenware clay and coated in a warm yellow lead glaze.

Over the years our work has been exhibited and indeed, become quite collectable, both here and abroad with much of it being owned by many leading celebrities and even royalty.

In recent months, in addition to the shop in Rope walk, a small unit has been opened in Butchers Row in the thriving town's pannier market. There it is possible to view and purchase items and even have a go on the potter's wheel !

Bideford Pottery can be found just yards from the town's busy quay and is open from Monday to Saturday, 10am-5pm and at other times by appointment.

Each piece takes about six weeks to produce so plenty of notice is required for commissions; we celebrate all occasions. Births and christening ,marriages, anniversaries, retirements, and even cremation vases and funeral urns! All we require is to have wording and dates printed very clearly, along with any relevant illustrations or photographs of eg, churches, pets , badges/ logos, etc..

Postage can easily be accommodated if collection is not a possibility.
